Where is help needed the most? That is hard to say because there are many kinds of poverty in Colombia. In 2007 Piedritas de Esperanza will start three projects:
Giving joy to the many orphans
The orphanages are full of abandonned children or children of whom the parents died because of the war in Colombia. Piedritas de Esperanza will start activities in those orphanages to give these children hope again. They have to know that people do care about them.
Supporting the poor children in the suburbs
Many children in the poor suburbs are working instead of being in school. In co-operation with local organisations Piedritas de Esperanza will support these children.
Facilitating that children can go to school
Many children are waiting to go to school. Only they lack money to enter into schools. In co-operation with a few public schools in Bogota, Piedritas de Esperanza has made places for these children at the schools. In this way they can study and have far less chances to go into a bad direction.
